SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE TO DESTROY OLD AND OBSOLETE
MUNITIONS
(SBU) Action Request. We received a letter from MOD dated
December 29, 2009 requesting assistance to destroy old and
obsolete munitions which are at risk of unintentional
explosion and pose a safety risk to the public. A copy of
this request and a list of at-risk munitions was sent to
PM/WRA by email on January 21. We strongly endorse this
request from the GOL. Could DOS send a representative to
conduct a site assessment of the stockpile and meet with GOL
officials to discuss potential options for its reduction?
POC for this issue is the Chief of our Office of Defense
Cooperation Lieutenant Colonel Ron Hogan 370-5266-5641 or
