¶1. (C) We met with the MFA's Laima Jureviciene, Head of the
Middle East and Africa Division as well as Donatas
Vainalavicius and Gediminas Kliukas from the Arms Control and
Terrorism Prevention Division to discuss the addition of four
entities and one individual related to the Iranian
Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) under E.O. 13382, Blocking
Property of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferators and
Their Supporters. We stressed these designations are not
ment to circumvent or predjuice any efforts the EU or UN may
take against Iran.
¶2. (C) Vainalavicius agreed the actions of Iran, "challenge
regional stability," and remarked they are supportive of
taking specific measures, possibly via the UN or EU.
