BIODIVERSITY IN AREAS BEYOND NATIONAL JURISDICTION WORKING
GROUP

1. (U) Mission clearance is granted for the individuals
listed below to attend and participate in the meeting of the
Ad Hoc Open-ended Informal Working Group to study issues
relating to the conservation and sustainable use of marine
biological diversity beyond areas of national jurisdiction
(BBNJ WG),called for in the UN General Assembly 63 and 64
Oceans and Law of the Sea Resolutions. This meeting is
expected to develop recommendations on a range of important
oceans-related issues for consideration and potential
adoption by the General Assembly. The meeting will take place
February 1 - 5, at UN Headquarters.
