1. On February 4, Swedish International Development Minister
Gunilla Carlsson announced that Sweden will send three police
officers and four prison officers to the United Nations
Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). Swedish aid to
Haiti totals USD 29.4 million as of February 4, excluding the
USD 60.3 million annual contribution that Sweden has already
paid into the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). The
Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency also currently has some 30
people in Haiti participating in various relief teams.
2. Post will continue to monitor and report Sweden's
assistance to Haiti.
