SIPDIS FROM PDAS SCHLICHER TO AMBASSADOR BEECROFT E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: APER AMGT JO SUBJECT: KUDOS TO EMBASSY AMMAN Steve, Thank you for the extraordinary leadership and support the mission provided during my and ELA Director Nicole Shampaine's recent visit. Embassy Amman's orchestration of U.S. participation in two major diplomatic conferences, while hosting several senior department principals and a demanding Congressional delegation, was simply superb. The mission's multi-level coordination with the host government in preparing for both the Quint dialogue and the political reform dialogue resulted in thoughtful, productive exchanges on our most important multilateral and bilateral issues. I would like to especially thank my control officer Jackie Ward, the political dialogue control officer Garret Harries, our driver Mohammad Naser, expediter Mustafa Sharkas, and the countless other Embassy colleagues in GSO, RSO, PA, and other sections who worked behind the scenes to ensure the visit's success. On behalf of Assistant Secretary Feltman, Deputy Assistant Secretary Connelly, and ELA Director Nicole Shampaine, thank you for continuing to ensure our diplomatic engagement, from formal conferences to casual encounters with key contacts, reaps results. Thanks again to the entire mission for the high bar you set in NEA. Best, Ron CLINTON |
