UNCLAS STATE 006599 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AMGT ASEC AFIN SUBJECT: 2010 GSO WORKSHOP ¶1. SUMMARY: The Office of Logistics Management (A/LM) is pleased to announce the GSO Workshop for 2010. It will be held March 1-5, in Washington, D.C. The theme for this year's Workshop is "Logistics and Supply Chain Initiatives in a Green Environment". END SUMMARY. ¶2. Workshop Objectives: The A/LM GSO Workshops provide participants a forum to exchange ideas, share experiences, explore best practices, acquire information on new and continuing Department initiatives and participate in interactive training sessions. The 2010 Workshop will focus on the greening of diplomacy, the challenges of supply chain management especially in a crisis environment, the expanding services of A/LM services and will feature topics such as the Collaborative Management in briefings by various bureaus and offices that work closely with GSOs. Please visit the A/LM website for the agenda and other details. ¶3. Workshop Participation: The Workshop is designed for GSOs and senior LES employees in GSO. The workshop will formally begin on March 2nd so that overseas participants can conduct consultations March 1, if desired. Posts will be required to fund travel and per diem costs. The per diem rate for Washington D.C. during this time period will be USD 201 for lodging and USD 64 for Meals & Incidental expenses. ¶4. Workshop Registration: Please use the A/LM workshop Website on OpenNet to register at http://lm.a.state.gov and select "GSO Workshop." You will receive an automatic acknowledgment that your workshop registration has been received. Alternatively, if you are unable to register on-line, you may email Crayvondia Singletary at singletarycl@state.gov, or LaVetta Turner at turnerln@state.gov. Registration for the workshop closes on February 19, 2010. Your enrollment will be confirmed via email. ¶5. Hotel information: Rooms are being held at One Washington Circle Hotel located at One Washington Circle NW, and at The George Washington University Inn located at 824 New Hampshire Ave, NW. Reservations can be made for One Washington Circle Hotel by calling (800)424- 9671 or (202)872-1680, Group Code: 526461. Reservations for The George Washington University Inn can be made by calling (800)426-4455 or (202)337-6620, Group Code: ¶249701. Please note: a major credit card or fiscal data is needed to secure a hotel reservation. If you cancel your trip, a 24-hour cancellation notice is required or a penalty fee will apply and you will be charged for one night of lodging. Rooms must be reserved by January 28, 2010 in order to get the workshop rate. Check-in time is 3:00pm on February 28, 2010 and check-out time is 12:00 pm on March 5, 2010. ¶6.
