(U) This cable responds to the action request in reftel requesting human rights vetting for the candidates nominated to attend the ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS/WITNESSES IN CRIMINAL CASES (PART II) in VLORA, ALBANIA from 1/14/2010 to 1/15/2010. ¶2. (U) The Department of State has vetted the individuals listed in reftel and possesses no credible derogatory information as of 01/11/2010. Post is authorized to include the following individuals in USG-funded training: ROMIR CUFE, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 6/22/1972 BUJAR MADANI, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 6/12/1971 LORENC MERKURI, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 5/29/1976 ARBEN JORGAQI, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 10/1/1978 ALPIN AGAJ, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 12/18/1977 ALVEN SHEHU, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 6/6/1980 ROLAND KAMBERI, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 8/15/1962 ALTIN AVDULI, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 3/16/1977 GERTMOND KOROVESHI, JUDICIAL POLICE OFFICER, 12/15/1975 ¶3. (U) Post is permitted to provide the following statement to authorized parties: Embassy verifies that the Department of State possesses no credible information of gross violations of human rights by the individuals identified above, as of 01/11/2010. Post may cite this cable in response. ¶4. (U) Note that if Post subsequently becomes aware of possible human rights violations by the individuals listed above, Post should inform the Department and not proceed with training.
