FELTMAN'S RECENT VISIT
Many thanks for Embassy Muscat,s outstanding job supporting
my February 16 - 18 visit to Oman. I was very pleased with
the frank and productive discussions held with HM Sultan
Qaboos bin Said and his deputies. The meetings allowed us to
engage with the Omanis on the &Friends of Yemen8 process
kicked off in London, and to discuss ways in which Oman and
its Gulf neighbors can work together with the Government of
Yemen to address Yemen,s serious governance, development,
and security issues. The Sultan and I also had the
opportunity to discuss concerns over Iran as our nations work
together to address the challenges Oman and its GCC partners
face in the region. I thank you and your entire staff,
particularly control officer Myca Craven, for the hard work
and dedication you provided to make my visit a productive
one. Congratulations on a job well done.
