1. USUNNY is instructed to draw on para (2) points in
addressing the planned February 18 UNSC briefing by UN Under
Secretary General Pascoe regarding his recent visit to DPRK.
2. Begin Talking Points.
-- It is important for the international community to
maintain a unified approach on the denuclearization of the
Korean peninsula, North Korea's return to Six-Party Talks,
and full and transparent implementation of relevant UN
Security Council Resolutions, in particular UNSCRs 1718 and
1874.
-- The United States appreciates U/SYG Pascoe's briefing and
looks forward to continuing to work with the UN to help the
Korean people.
