1. (C) On February 25, POLOFF delivered reftel demarche to
convey U.S. views regarding the latest IAEA report on Syria
to Kim He-jin, Second Secretary, Disarmament and
Nonproliferation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade (MOFAT). Kim informed POLOFF that Korea intends to
give a statement at the March 1-5 IAEA Board of Governors
(BOG) meeting. The statement, according to Kim, is still
being drafted and cleared, but will likely express concern
about Syria's lack of cooperation with the IAEA. It will also
likely address the issues of Iran and North Korea. Kim
further informed POLOFF that she will attend the meeting in
Vienna.
