(C) On January 04, poloff received a response to reftel
demarche from Park Chi-young, MOFAT's International Security
Affairs Division. Park confirmed that the ROKG is willing to
co-sponsor the UN listing of AQAP and several operatives
through UNSCR 1267. She stated that the ROKG instructed its
Mission in New York to "provide the necessary cooperation on
UNSCR 1267, including co-sponsorship, if a request is made."
Park also informed us that MOFAT forwarded the information
provided in reftel to the relevant ROKG ministries. She
promised to provide update if additional information is
available.
