(SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche on February 22 to MFA
Head of the United Nations Division Redouane Hussaini.
Hussaini stated that Morocco, like the U.S., would like to
obtain agreement on the program of work before the end of the
current Conference on Disarmament session. Morocco likewise
views progress on the program of work as important toward
creating a positive, productive atmosphere ahead of the
Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference in May, he
said. According to Hussaini, Morocco currently is holding
consultations with several members of the Conference on
Disarmament in Geneva and would like to see the negotiations
for the Fissile Material Cutoff Treaty commence.
