1. Charge delivered reftel demarche to the Foreign Minister
January 15 requesting that Trinidad and Tobago (TT) associate
itself with the Copenhagen Accord. In addition, Post sent a
diplomatic note to the MFA, and discussed the matter with the
GOTT's lead technical negotiator on climate change Kishan
Kumarsingh.
2. Foreign Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon told the Charge on
January 25 that the Prime Minister's Cabinet will approve TT's
association with the Accord in its next session on January 27 and
that the GOTT will relay that position as outlined in reftel by
January 31.
