(C) Charge delivered reftel demarche to Vincent Zakane,
Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on
February 3rd. Zakane said that he would pass the points on
to the Minister and the President. He added that Burkina
Faso had supported a policy of dialogue and engagement with
Iran on nuclear issues but realized that when such a policy
ceased to produce results, it could be time to adjust course.
In addition, Zakane said that Burkina Faso,s voting record
at the IAEA indicated that it takes seriously the issue of
Iran's nuclear program.
