1. (U) PolCouns delivered reftel points to Philip Weech, director
of the Bahamas Science, Environment and Technology Commission at
the Ministry of Environment and Eric Carey, Director of the Bahamas
National Trust. Mr. Weech noted that a formal response on the
position of the GCOB with respect to UN Convention on the
International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) submissions would
be forthcoming. A list of delegation representatives will
accompany the response. Post will follow-up with the Ministry of
Environment and provide the GCOB position and CITES delegates in a
separate telegram.
