Economic Counselor met January 29 with MFA America's Deputy
Director Nyambura Kamau to demarche the GOK per Ref A. Econ Couns
discussed USG activities in Haiti following the January 12
earthquake per Ref B. Ms. Kamau took on board our points and
expressed support for U.S. activities in Haiti. While Ms. Kamau
was aware of private donations from Kenya for relief in Haiti,
primarily through the Kenya Red Cross (directly linked to the
ICRC),she was unaware of any GOK official contribution at this
time.
