(SBU) EconOff met with Dr. Sulaiman Cherif, the head of Oman's
Office of Peaceful Nuclear Energy and discussed talking points in
reftel. Dr. Cherif served in the IAEA for over fifteen years and is
well aware of U.S. nuclear cooperation efforts. Dr. Cherif is
looking forward to the upcoming visit by U.S. civil nuclear experts
on January 24, to discuss avenues for Omani-U.S. civil nuclear
cooperation.
