ESTH Counselor conveyed reftel talking points on U.S.
proposals for the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP-15) of
the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species
(CITES). Trevor Salmon, head of the CITES and International
Species Policy Team at the Department of Environment, Food,
and Rural Affairs (DEFRA),said that the UK is still
coordinating a joint position with EU partners on the U.S.
proposals and is not ready to share their views with us. The
UK will support, as a co-sponsor, the U.S. proposal on
corals.
