Per reftel, Charge thanked Foreign Ministry officials January 19
for Peru's contributions to Haiti earthquake relief. There was no
mention of plans for further relief flights at this time. UNDP
Director told Charge that he is urging Peru to contribute cash
rather than goods. Embassy is coordinating daily with INDECI,
Peru's disaster relief agency. Embassy has provided contact
information for air traffic control in Haiti to the Peruvian Air
Force. We will advise if Peru plans to send more aid flights to
Haiti.
