SUBJECT: GUATEMALA HUMAN RIGHTS LEAHY VETTING REQUEST 139
The Regional Security Office at Embassy Guatemala has identified
the following individuals to participate in a special International
Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Protection training, in which the
U.S. Secret Service will provide a block of the training. The
training will be in San Salvador, El Salvador on March 1-5, 2010.
The individuals below serve in various security positions within
the Guatemalan government. The Embassy has conducted its own
review and found no credible information that they have been
involved in gross human rights violations. Please conduct human
rights vetting and advise of any results by February 18, 2010.
