This is an action request. See para three. ¶2. The following candidate has been selected for participation in the Multinational Communications Interoperability Program (MCIP) in Thailand, which will begin on 15 February, 2010. Post vetting was completed on January 28, 2010. Post requests that vetting be completed by February 10, 2010 to provide sufficient time for processing. Post requests the department conduct Leahy vetting for the following candidate: ¶1. Name: Abu Zafor Mohammad Salah Uddin Rank: Lieutenant Colonel Unit: Army Headquarters Unit Location: DHAKA Personal Number: BA-3802 Date of Birth: 20 December 1969 Place of Birth: Chuadanga, Bangladesh ¶2. Name: A K M Afzal Hossain Rank: Commander Unit: BNS Titumir Unit Location: Khulna Personal Number: 854 Date of Birth: 01 October 1971 Place of Birth: Bogra, Bangladesh ¶3. Post requests that the Department of State authorize post to make the following statement to the relevant DOD units: "Embassy verifies that the Department of State possesses no credible information of gross violations of human rights by the above named individual or unit." ¶4.
