(SBU) In response to ref (a) request, we spoke February 16
with Eva Schafer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs'
International and Human Rights Department. Schafer said the
Hungarian government had no plans to send police or military
personnel to augment the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti
(MINUSTAH). She noted, however, that the Ministry of Defense
had offred 10,000 blankets and other relief supplies to the
Haitian government in addition to Hungary's earlier official
and non-official assistance (ref b).
