1. (SBU) Per reftel requests, Embassy presented points to Foreign
Affairs Ministry North AMERICA Desk Officer Srdjan Miljkovic on
assistance to Haiti and Haiti air traffic. We also expressed
appreciation for the work of the five Serbian police officers
participating in MINUSTAH at the time of the disaster and who are
staying on to provide continued support. Miljkovic informed us
that the Serbian government planned to donate $100,000 in cash to
relief efforts and would make a formal decision in the next day or
two. He also requested information about how to make the donation.
(We have put the MFA in touch with the correct POC at the local UN
office.)
2. (U) Miljkovic noted there was no air traffic between Serbia and
the Western hemisphere but said he would pass on the air traffic
information to national carrier JAT.
