¶1. (C) On February 2, PolOff conveyed to MFA International
Organizations and Conferences Department UN Affairs Division
Attache Jiang Bo reftel points informing the PRC of U.S.
plans to submit the name of Muthanna Hadith al-Dari to the
United Nations 1267 Sanctions Committee by February 11, 2010
for inclusion on its consolidated list of individuals subject
to UN Security Council-mandated sanctions. Noting that Iraq
will join the United States in this designation, PolOff
welcomed PRC co-sponsorship as well. While offering no
immediate comment, Jiang promised to convey the information
to the appropriate officials.
