1. (SBU) EmbOffs delivered reftel talking points to MFA
Coordinator of Support and Deputy Director of International
Organizations, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Humaimidi on January
20. Al-Humaimidi was very appreciative of the information
and said that he would have the Iraqi Mission to the United
Nations pass any data that the GOI has on the four
individuals/entities directly to the 1267 Committee.
Al-Humaimidi said Iraq would also separately request to
remove names of deceased individuals from the sanctions list.
2. (C) Al-Humaimidi also said that he would let the
appropriate GOI authorities know that Mohammed Abu Dhress is
expected to complete his prison sentence in Germany on May 3
to see if they are interested in extraditing him to Iraq to
face additional charges.
