1. (U) An additional 3000 kilograms of foodstuffs and 200
kilograms of medicine bound for Haiti left Paraguay January 21 on
an Argentine C-130 cargo aircraft. Three additional relief
volunteers traveled concurrently, bringing Paraguay's total effort
to 16 volunteers and around 8000 delivered kilograms of food and
medicine. Approximately 50,000 kilograms of aid are still waiting
transportation.
2. (U) The Brazilian AIR FORCE is scheduled to carry 31
Paraguayan peacekeepers to Haiti January 30. These peacekeepers
replace the Paraguayan forces that rotated out of Haiti just prior
to the earthquake.
