¶2. (SBU) On January 12, PolOff received the Kazakhstani Ministry of
Foreign Affairs diplomatic note Number 10-2/4818, responding to
Post's diplomatic note Number 0758-09, dated September 28, 2009
(reftel).
¶3. (SBU) An unofficial translation of the original Kazakh text of
the dipnote follows.
BEGIN TEXT:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of
America, and, in response to the Embassy's Note 0758-09 of September
28, 2009, informs the United States that the Ministry of Defense of
the Republic of Kazakhstan confirms the order for the delivery of
McMillan TAC-50 rifles and ammunition, and informs the United States
that Republican State Enterprise "KazSpetsExport" and "Samros Group
Limited" signed contract Number 1/2009, dated March 24, 2009, for
the delivery of the aforementioned weapons and ammunition. The
total value of the items to be delivered is $75,512, and this amount
was fully paid on April 16, 2009, by the Kazakhstani side.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan avails
itself of this occasion to renew to the Embassy of the United States
of America the assurances of its highest consideration.
