(S) We delivered reftel paper to MFA Nonproliferation and Disarmament Department Head Serhan Yigit on February 23. Yigit said he understood the seriousness of our concerns and agreed to relay the information regarding the Turkish firms to relevant government agencies in order to look into these possible transactions. He provided assurances that the GoT will not allow any transaction that is in violation of UNSCR resolutions or Turkish laws and agreed to follow up in the near future once the GoT interagency has had an opportunity to review the information and look into the transactions.
