(SBU) I would like to express my profound thanks to DRL, NEA and PM
for their extraordinary effort to complete Leahy vetting
requirements for the group of over 60 Emirati officials in less
than 48 hours (reftels). The hard work of all involved,
particularly of Alex Hoey in DRL and Maria Sisk in NEA/ARP, ensured
that our Bulk Cash Smuggling training program was able began on
February 21 as scheduled. This program is an essential component
of our efforts to disrupt illicit financial flows in the region and
is expected to pave the way for greater bilateral cooperation.
