SUBJECT:POST SUPPORTS 1206 PROPOSAL FOR OPERATIONAL MENTOR
AND LIAISON TEAM (OMLT)TRAINING SET IN CROATIA FOR FY10
1. The Ambassador supports ODC Croatia's 1206 proposal
for FY10 - "Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT)
Training Set" to be located in Croatia. The equipment in
the proposal will provide a package that will allow Croatia
to train OMLTs, which are one of the most important
contributions that Nations can make to the development of
the Afghan National Army. Croatia has a Combined Combat
Support OMLT with the Minnesota National Guard, as well
as an Infantry OMLT and a Garrison OMLT that are completed
manned and funded by Croatia. Croatia plans on fielding
two additional Police OMLTs in 2010.
2. Post is not aware of any credible evidence of
gross violations of human rights by the units who are
proposed to receive assistance.
3. The POC for this project is ODC Chief LTC Chuck Davis
385-1-661-2223, email - davisce2@state.gov.
