(U) This is an Action Request - see para 3. ¶2. (SBU) Following up on FM Jandrokovic's September 1 comments to EUR DAS Jones (septel) that Croatia is inclined to provide an oral briefing at the ICJ on Kosovo's independence, POLCOUNS delivered reftel points to Amb. Davor Vidis, MFA Director for Neighboring Countries & Southeastern Europe, on September 2. Vidis confirmed that Croatia will present an oral briefing to the ICJ. POLCOUNS emphasized the need to inform the Registry of the Court of their intent by September 15. Vidis said that Andreja Metelko-Zgombic, MFA Senior Legal Counsel, would likely take the lead on this issue. He welcomed our offer to coordinate specific aspects of Croatia's oral brief. ¶3. (SBU) ACTION REQUEST: Post would appreciate any guidance that L/UNA or L/EUR could provide as to whom would be the primary contact for the Croatian MFA legal department to coordinate with regarding their oral brief.
