Vesna Vukovic, head of the MFA's UN office, confirmed on May
6 to Poloff that Croatia would support the U.S. candidacy for
the Human Rights Council (HRC) (REF C). She also re-iterated
Croatia,s hope that the U.S. would support Croatia's
candidacy for the HRC next year and indicated a formal
request for our support along with some background
information on their candidacy would be forthcoming.
