Poloff delivered reftel message on March 17 to Vesna Vukovic,
head of the MFA's UN office and followed up on March 18 with
Tihomir Lulic her deputy. Tihomir expressed his appreciation
for receiving our position and said that their office was
still conferring with their colleagues in New York regarding
this issue and would likely coordinate with other european
countries on any action. He indicated that Croatia
understood the US position and agreed that stabilizing
Somalia was very important. Any further substantive response
will be reported by septel.
