(C) On September 21, Polcouns urged Polish MFA officials to
support the U.S. position that certain statements are
unacceptable, and should prompt those in attendance at the
UNGA general debate to walk out. In response to reftel
points, MFA Deputy Director for UN Affairs Artur Klopotowski
said he would convey the points to MFA leadership and his
counterparts in New York. Klopotowski was uncertain what the
ultimate GoP decision would be, but noted that Poland's seat
will be filled for most of the general debate by lower level
experts. As a result, Poland may not be able to match other
countries' plans to have higher-level officials walk out in
response to objectionable statements, leaving first
secretaries in the seat.
