(C) Lukasz Zielinski of the MFA's Security Policy Department
told us April 8 that Warsaw shared the world's outrage over
Pyongyang's launch of a Taepo-Dong 2 launch. Zielinski said
Poland "totally agreed" with all U.S. points in reftel
demarche, including President Obama's official statement, and
welcomed recent statements from the EU and NATO. He added
that Warsaw was ready to support U.S. initiatives against
North Korea, while acknowledging that Polish ability to
influence activities in that part of the world was limited.
Zielinski also noted Polish concern over the apparent lack of
consensus among Six-Party members.
