(C) The GoP welcomes the upcoming conference on Afghanistan
on March 31 and looks forward to attending it; however, MFA
interlocutors were not sure at what level Warsaw would be
represented. Jacek Januchowicz of the MFA Security Policy
Department and Dominik Malek of the Asia-Pacific Department
acknowledged receipt of the Netherlands Government invitation
to FM Radoslaw Sikorski, which was conveyed March 13, but
said no decision had yet been made. Both acknowledged the
importance of the conference but had no other substantive
comment. Netherlands DCM Joep Damoiseaux joined Poloff in
presenting Reftel demarche.
