The deputy director of the international relations division
of the Lithuanian Customs Department, Arunas Adomenas, told
us on November 10 that bringing into force the Customs Mutual
Assistance Agreement signed in March 1999 by the United
States and Lithuania is not necessary because the U.S.-EU
customs agreement is in place. Lithuania joined the EU in
¶2004.
