(C) We delivered talking points on the P5 1 meetings with
Iran to MFA's Head of Transatlantic Cooperation and Security
Policy Department Director Gediminas Varvuolis and Acting
Head of the Arms Control and Terrorism Prevention Division
Donatas Vainalavicius on October 7. Varvuolis reconfirmed
the GOL's support of the USG position including the dual
track approach. We also encouraged the GOL to use its voice
in the EU to advocate for incresed pressure on Iran if it
does not follow through with Geneva comittments. We thanked
the MFA again for its September 30th statement of concern
about Iran's nuclear program (reftel B) which was drafted by
Vainalavicius.
