(U) Polchief discussed reftel points May 20 with Bernhard
Zimburg, MFA Director for East Asia and the Pacific. Zimburg
said MFA officials determined that the available disaster
relief funds were not sufficient to provide significant aid
to both Sri Lanka and Pakistan. They decided to focus on Sri
Lanka, with a contribution of 200,000 euros, and will
therefore not provide bilateral aid for Pakistani IDP crisis.
