A. Attendance of the Head of State: Pope Benedict XVI will not
attend.
B. Attendance of Head of Government: Secretary of State,
Cardinal Bertone, will not attend.
C. Attendance of the Foreign Minister: Archbishop Dominique
Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States, will attend the
High-Level meeting on climate change on September 22. He will
arrive in New York on September 21, and depart on September 24.
Archbishop Mamberti will not participate in the General Debate.
The Holy See's Permanent Observer at the U.N. will represent the
Holy See. Archbishop Mamberti speaks English, but may need
interpretation. His mother tongue is French.
