SERVICE AWARD
(U) In recognition of the superb support and dedication to
the objectives and goals of the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization and the United States from 2004-2009, USNATO
recommends awarding the Department of Defense Distinguished
Public Service Award to his Excellency Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
An award of this distinction would be in keeping with
precedent and reflect positively on U.S. relations with its
NATO Allies and the outstanding service of de Hoop Scheffer
as NATO Secretary General.
