(C) On August 13, Embassy Tokyo delivered reftel points to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) International Counterterrorism Cooperation Division Deputy Director Miyako Ishimura and to Ministry of Finance (MOF) International Bureau Legal Research Office Deputy Director Junji Kuyama and Section Chief Yuka Kunisato. Emboffs requested that Japan provide any additional information pertinent to USG review of UNSCR 1267 Consolidated List tranche three names pursuant to paragraph 25 of UNSCR 1822. ¶2. (C) Ishimura stated that Japan appreciates our efforts on ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the sanctions regime. She expressed sober prospects about whether Japan would have any value-added information pertaining to the review, but said that MOFA will circulate the information to relevant ministries within the Japanese Government. Kuyama stated that MOF would review the basis for Japan previously co-designating these names and check its files for additional information. In addition, he said MOF would coordinate with MOFA to inquire at other relevant Japanese Government agencies for additional information and let Emboffs know the results. ZUMWALT
