1. (SBU) EAC The Hague convened on February 25, 2009, to
discuss the crash of Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 at
Amsterdam,s Schiphol Airport and determine if all
appropriate measures have been taken.


2. (C) Those present at the EAC were the Charge,, CONS,
CWDEL, RSO, GRPO, POL/ECON, DAO, GLO, LEGAT, MGT, OLC, PAO,
FAS and ODC.


3. (S/NF) At approximately 10:23 am CET, a Turkish Airlines,
Boeing 737-800, Flight Number 1951, traveling from Istanbul
to Amsterdam crashed short of the runway at Amsterdam,s
Schiphol Airport. There is currently no indication of
terrorist or criminal activity that forced the aircraft to
crash. Dutch officials stated at approximately 2 pm CET, that
the number of dead were 6 passengers and 3 crew with
approximately 50 injured. The injuries range from minor to
severe.


4. (SBU) Post has received confirmation through the Boeing
Corporation that four of their American employees were
onboard the aircraft when it crashed. The American employees'
current disposition and location has not been determined at
this time.


5. (SBU) American Citizen Services (ACS) officers are
currently attempting to locate the known Americans. The
officers are further attempting to locate any other American
citizens that may have been onboard the aircraft and render
assistance as needed.


6. (SBU) Post will continue to monitor the situation and
convene an EAC as deemed necessary.
