SUBJECT: MISSION EMERGENCY ACTION COMMITTEE (EAC) MEETING
1. (SBU) On August 25, the Charge chaired a Mission
Emergency Action Committee (EAC) meeting to review our
security posture in response to the Department's press
release stating the Embassy would suspend the issuance of
nonimmigrant visas beginning August 26.
2. (SBU) The EAC concluded that this action, although it
will upset some individuals, will not likely cause a violent
response or actions that would significantly impact upon our
security, at least in the short term. The EAC determined
that current employee travel restrictions shall remain in
effect. A management notice is also being sent to all
employees and family members to inform them of the
Department's action and for them to report any security
incidents immediately to the RSO.
