1. (C) DCM relayed ref A requests for contributions to
Afghanistan to Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov on
April 2, noting that Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze had
attended the March 31 conference in The Hague and was likely
already aware of these requests. Nalbandov reconfirmed
Georgia's interest in making a contribution to Afghanistan
(ref B) and said Georgia would consider these specific
requests. He and the DCM agreed to focus in particular on
the idea of supporting elections and to remain in close
consultation.
