1. (SBU) Post delivered reftel talking points
regarding U.S. views on the International Renewable
Energy Agency (IRENA) to the Uzbek Ministry of
Foreign Affairs with the request that the points
also be passed to the Scientific Association
"Physics Sun" of the Institute of Material Sciences
of the Academy of Sciences and to the Technology
Transfer Agency of the Ministry of Economy.
2. (SBU) We also delivered the points directly to
Dr. Sultan Suleimanov of the "Physics Sun"
Association. Dr. Suleimanov told us his institute
is fully aware of and supports the IRENA concept.
He said he was pleased to learn that the USG is
considering becoming a signatory to the IRENA
statute.
