Hallenborg thanked us for the information and noted that Sweden, speaking on behalf of the EU, had delivered a joint statement in the UN Security Council on October 14. Hallenborg said that the EU had not called for the HRC special session that will take place October 15-16, but that the EU would participate and may consider adding input to any resolution that the Palestinian delegation may present. Hallenborg emphasized that Sweden will push for a common EU position among the 27 EU Member States, but he recognized that reaching agreement would be difficult. Hallenborg believed that the EU's abstention on a vote would be a likely outcome. BARZUN
