A.) Number of internships offered: 2; B.) Language Requirements: Swedish preferred but not required; C.) Other Special Post Criteria: Major in international relations, international business or a related field; D.) Section of Intern Assignment: Pol/Econ, PD; E.) Summary of Typical Duties: Pol/Econ - Intern will assist with research and analysis of political and economic issues. Intern will participate in drafting of reporting cables and policy memoranda. They will also attend meetings with relevant counterparts from host government and will assist with arrangements for official USG visitors; PD - Intern will be involved in a myriad of activities in support of the Public Diplomacy Section, to include planning and executing visits of U.S. experts, arranging internal events, monitoring grant activities, and reviewing press and media stories; G.) Spring interns must serve a minimum of ten weeks during the period January 4, 2010 through April 30, 2010; H.) Post-provided housing is limited during the Spring 2010 season. Post does not have any vacant housing projected. Post personnel are being asked for possible space in their homes for interns. If home stays are unavailable, Post estimates cost for room and board at $1000 (USD) per month. Post will attempt to assist in providing referrals outside the Embassy community. Hotels are also available but prices vary depending on availability and season; I.) There are no visa requirements for American citizens residing in Sweden for less than three months; J.)
