(S) On May 7, Acting Economic Counselor discussed reftel
points regarding the Syrian firm Handasieh and the Swedish
company Abene Machine AB with Director Ingemar Dolfe and
Deputy Director Ulf Lindell, Department for Disarmament and
Non-Proliferation, the Swedish MFA. Dolfe thanked post for
providing the non-paper and stated that his department will
investigate this situation thoroughly. Lindell assured post
that Sweden does not want provide any type of assistance to
Syria's ballistic missile and WMD development efforts. Post
will also deliver to the Swedish Inspectorate for Strategic
Products and will report any additional information septel.
