B. STOCKHOLM 835
On March 16, Pol Counselor delivered reftel A points to Anne
Hoglund, Deputy Director of the MFA Department for Asia and
the Pacific. Hoglund stated that Sweden is unlikely to make
bilateral contributions in Pakistan because development funds
for South Asia are going to efforts in Afghanistan (similar
to Swedish response in reftel B). In addition, Hoglund said
the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) does not
have a significant presence in Pakistan and finds it
difficult to identify projects, "not least because of the
security situation." However, Sweden would support
multilateral efforts through the EU.
